Open fermentation, oak barrel ageing, and bottle conditioning – Jolly Pumpkin beers are some of my favourite brews out there. They are so underrated on Ratebeer.com I am always amazed that they aren’t garnering higher numbers. I often get into good debate with fellow beer travellers as to how Ron Jeffries beers aren’t far more appreciated, although that seems to be changing recently. Seemingly they are are dedicated to more than the traditions of old world craftsmanship, but they are doing it in a very American way.
Apparently, everything they do is designed to create ales of outstanding art and flavour. Focusing on traditional rustic country style beers brought to life through labour and love, they strive to create beers to lighten the spirit, and soothe the soul.
Now I just have to find my pictures of Michigan!?!
